I have always loved using my hands as a divine instrument. I think that’s also why I became a Nurse; and worked well over two decades as a Newborn Care Specialist.
Thirty-something years later, I answered the calling within my heart to create a Reiki practice. It has changed my life-path forever. I became a Reiki I and II Practitioner well over ten years ago for my own healing process; and after a refresher training this Spring, I decided to become a Reiki Master so I could teach and share this with others as well.
“Now, what is Reiki?”, you might ask? Well…Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century by its founder and pioneer, Mikao Usui. The term comes from two Japanese words: “Rei,” which means “Gods Wisdom” or “Higher Power”, and “ki,” which translates to a lifeforce of energy.
Reiki is taught according to the Japanese tradition of the sensei (teacher), who passes the knowledge to the student through an attunement, which is an initiation that is thought to help open the energy channels of the student to facilitate the flow of healing energy
The Reiki belief system; and that of the practitioner, is that they don’t cause healing, nor are they the source of the healing energy. Instead, they’re a channel for the energy — similar to the way a garden hose acts as a channel for water.
Children responding to Reiki instinctually, especially infants; and young children. Children are extremely receptive to soaking up the balancing energies of Reiki. In general, children do not have emotional defenses that adults often do. Blockages and imbalances slow the flow of Reiki energies…and normally children’s energies are less encumbered by energy blocks.
It is truly an honor to share; and to pass on, this compassionate loving universal healing energy with others…especially with child-care providers.
For this reason I am so excited to start offering the Reiki Level I to Parents, Newborn Care Specialists, Postpartum Doulas and Nannies. “Rainbow Rays” was born!
Many people don’t know, but Reiki can really help with:
🤲🏼 bring a restful, longer sleep 🤲🏼 encourage relaxation 🤲🏼 comfort a crying baby 🤲🏼 soothe reflux pain 🤲🏼 relax a overstimulated baby 🤲🏼 calm digestive distress 🤲🏼 relieve teething pain 🤲🏼 hasten recovery from a cold 🤲🏼 stabilize sleep regressions 🤲🏼 enhance overall inner balance 🤲🏼 uplift mood 🤲🏼 boost sense of well-being
It’s a true humbling experience to raise the awareness of such beautiful gift; and bring healing energy to newborns and children.
“Reiki can never and will never belong to just one person or one organization. Reiki is the spiritual heritage of all humanity.” – Dr. Mikao Usui.
*Reiki should not be used as a substitute for the consultation of a Pediatrician/Physician. Reiki complements medical and therapeutic treatments, and it can enhance the efficacy of the overall healing process. *Rainbow Rays is a sister-company of Rainbow Nannies.
