And that’s it! Did I not say it was easy?

On-Call Babysitter Rates in Los Angeles County and Orange County:

Standard rates are usually $30 for one child and $35 for two children.

An additional $1 per hour is charged for each additional child more than two (including cousins or friends).
An additional $3 per hour is charged for each hour that the On-Call Babysitter will work between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
An additional $3 per hour is charged for each hour the On-Call Babysitter will work on a major holiday (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day).
Per California Labor Law, the hourly rate of the On-Call Babysitter is multiplied by one and one-half (1.5) after nine (9) consecutive hours of Babysitting.

Our On-Call Babysitters accept Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Check or Cash. Feel free to leave a tip if your sitter goes above and beyond.

*Please know that you have a tax responsibility if an individual On-Call Babysitter earns more than $750 quarterly; or more than $2600 annually with your family.

Your membership renews every 30 days from the day you enroll.

For everyone’s health and safety, our On-Call Babysitters do not provide care for sick children. If your child has any symptoms (click here for more link), please cancel your booking and reschedule once they’re feeling better.

Confirmed booking cancellations shall incur a cancellation fee charged as follows:

$75.00 when canceled less than 24 hours before booking

Full cost of booking when cancelled less than 12 hours before booking

Cancellation fees are charged to the credit card on file; and must be paid before any additional bookings can be made.

At Rainbow Sitters, our goal is to provide safe, reliable, and thoughtfully vetted on-call childcare while making the process simple and supportive for your family. Below you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

Yes. All bookings have a 4-hour minimum. If you need care for less than 4 hours, the On-Call Babysitter will still be compensated for the full 4-hour minimum. This ensures fairness and consistency for our carefully vetted caregivers who reserve their time for your family.

Once your booking has been accepted, you are welcome to communicate directly with your On-Call Babysitter and schedule a brief video chat if you would like to connect in advance. Out of respect for our On-Call Babysitters and their schedules, in-person meetings prior to a booking are not permitted. If you would like extra time to review routines, expectations, or introductions, we recommend adding an additional 15 minutes at the beginning of your booking.

Yes. If parking is required, please cover the parking fees. You may either reimburse your On-Call Babysitter upon arrival or provide payment upfront so they can park without inconvenience. We ask families to ensure parking is accessible so your babysitter can arrive calmly and on time.

We recommend that On-Call Babysitters do not transport children by car. To ensure safety and clarity, babysitting should take place at the initial booking location, such as your home, hotel, wedding location or Airbnb.

Yes, outings such as walks to the park or time at a nearby pool are possible. However, we ask that you provide clear written instructions, including expectations, safety guidelines, and any necessary permissions, so your babysitter can confidently and safely care for your child.

Tipping is not required, but it is always appreciated. Many families choose to tip as a gesture of gratitude, especially when a babysitter has provided exceptional care or gone above and beyond.

For the health and safety of everyone, our On-Call Babysitters do not provide care for sick children. If your child is experiencing any symptoms of illness, we kindly ask that you cancel your booking and reschedule once your child is feeling well again. This policy helps protect your family, our caregivers, and the broader community.

We understand that plans can change. However, because our On-Call Babysitters reserve their time specifically for your family, the following cancellation fees apply:

$75 cancellation fee when canceled less than 24 hours before the booking
Full booking cost when canceled less than 12 hours before the booking

Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card on file and must be settled before any future bookings can be made.

We carefully oversee booking acceptance to ensure alignment between families and babysitters and will make adjustments if needed. However, we understand that every family is unique and sometimes it’s not the right fit. If you would prefer not to be matched with a particular babysitter again, simply email us at book@rainbowsitters.com and request to list the babysitter as “Do Not Book Again.” We will honor your preference.
