I wholeheartedly believe in continuing education for Nannies. Continuing education is an all-encompassing term that describes a variety of formal; and informal learning activities and methods. Staying up to date with your knowledge and skill sets, makes the need for continuing education necessary.
In the Nanny industry, there are so many opportunities for continuing education. Think about workshops, seminars, classes, courses and certifications that enable you to further develop your skills and knowledge in specific areas of your profession.
I know of so many amazing passionate and tremendously knowledgeable Educators, who invested much effort and energy in developing an educational program for Nannies. I believe this is not highlighted enough in our industry.
Becoming a Newborn Care Specialist should not be seen as the only progression for Nannies! Many Nannies choose to become a Newborn Care Specialist, because of their desire to increase their earnings. However, did you know that you can earn 6-figures as a Nanny? Many Nannies have been hired by high profile clients and celebrities; and they now fly private and travel all over the world with their Nanny Family, while earning a great income with wonderful benefits and lovely perks.

Successful business men and women, from Warren Buffett to Oprah, are huge advocates of continuing education. President Barack Obama has spoken often about reading for his own learning for at least an hour a day during his time in the White House.
